If you’ve ever attended one of our estate sales, you’ve probably noticed that we have a soft spot for the unusual, the nostalgic, and the wonderfully unexpected. That’s exactly why we chose the name Kitschy Sales.
But what does “kitschy” actually mean?
The word kitsch is often used to describe objects that are charming, quirky, sentimental, nostalgic, or delightfully unconventional. Think vintage mushroom décor, retro kitchen canisters, colorful ceramics, old holiday decorations, family keepsakes, and those one-of-a-kind treasures that instantly transport you back to another time.
While some people use the term dismissively, we’ve always viewed kitsch differently. To us, kitsch represents personality, memories, and the stories behind the things people love.
And that’s really what estate sales are all about.

One Person’s Clutter Is Another Person’s Treasure
One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned through years of estate sales is that you should never assume something has no value simply because it isn’t valuable to you.
The avocado-green kitchen canister set sitting in a cabinet may be exactly what someone has been searching for to complete a collection.
The old lamp in the corner might remind someone of their grandmother’s living room.
The box of vintage Christmas decorations gathering dust in the attic could become the centerpiece of another family’s holiday traditions.
Every week we watch items that families considered donating, discarding, or hauling away find new homes with people who absolutely love them.
That’s why we’re passionate about helping families take the time to properly evaluate and present the contents of an estate before making decisions about what stays and what goes.
Every Item Has a Story
At Kitschy Sales, we believe every home tells a story.
Some stories are told through fine antiques and valuable collectibles. Others are told through everyday objects that may not seem extraordinary at first glance.
The handmade pottery.
The vintage Pyrex.
The well-loved cookbook with handwritten notes.
The quirky figurine that sat on a shelf for decades.
These pieces represent lives lived, memories made, and generations of history.
Our goal is to help those stories continue.

More Than Just an Estate Sale
When families call us, they’re often navigating major life transitions. Downsizing, moving, settling an estate, or helping a loved one transition into the next chapter can feel overwhelming.
Our job isn’t simply to sell things.
It’s to help families honor what matters, maximize the value of an estate, and connect cherished belongings with people who will appreciate them for years to come.
That’s the heart of Kitschy Sales.
The name may be playful, but the mission behind it is serious: preserving value, reducing waste, and helping treasures find their next home.
Because sometimes the item you’re ready to throw away is exactly the treasure someone else has been searching for.
And that’s what makes estate sales so special.
